No aisle, no seating chart, no two hundred people waiting for you to perform your own wedding back to them. Just the cold air, the silence of a place this far north, and the person you came here to marry.
I photograph that quiet for a living, and I direct it the way I'd direct a film. Before the day, we build a loose treatment: where to be, what the season is doing, which places hold a moment and which just look good in a brochure. On the day, you won't feel directed. You'll feel left alone, in the best possible way, while every frame is being decided around you.

My job is the two of you, and shaping the day around you so the pictures are worth having forever.
What isn't my job is booking your permit or your officiant, or making your marriage legal on paper. That part is yours to arrange, and it's more straightforward than it sounds once you start. I'll tell you where I think you should stand and when the hour is right, then follow your lead on the rest. You're the ones getting married. I'm the one making sure the feeling of the day lasts for eternity.

This extends your elopement into a directed portrait session under the aurora, on the night of the shoot, if the sky cooperates. I won't promise you lights, nobody honest can, but if they come, we'll be ready and you'll be the two people standing under them.

Not everyone wants to slip away to a fjord with nobody watching, and there's nothing lesser about that. A wedding with the room full, the people who raised you, the friends who've known you since before you were any good at love, is its own kind of day worth having on record. A lot happens at once, and it only happens once.
The look on a face during the vows, the aunt who cries before anyone else, the ten seconds of a first dance nobody will remember clearly by morning. My job is to be in the right place for all of it without ever being the thing you notice.

* For destination weddings, travel days are billed at half rate and you cover flights, accommodation, and meals. Tell me where, and I'll put a full number in front of you before anything's booked.
Holding your date
A 30 percent deposit holds your date, with the balance due 30 days before. The same terms cover elopements, since they run on the same contract.
If plans change: more than 90 days out, you lose only the deposit. Between 30 and 90 days, the deposit plus half the balance. Inside 30 days, the full fee stands, because by then I've turned other dates away for yours.
It's written in plain language in the contract, and I'll walk you through it before you sign a thing.

THE QUESTION
COMES FIRST
You've brought someone to the edge of the Arctic to ask them the biggest question you'll ever ask. You shouldn't also be the one holding a phone at arm's length, trying to catch their face when they turn around.
That part is mine.
I stay far enough back that she never spots me, close enough that the moment is yours to keep, and you both walk away with the one photograph you could never restage.
PROPOSALS
THE MOMENT IT BECOMES REAL
Months of planning go into the question, and then it's over in a breath. What stays is how it felt: their face before they knew, the second it landed, the way you both fell apart a little. That's what I'm there for. Same discretion I'd bring to any candid job, pointed at a single moment, so neither of you is thinking about the camera while the thing you'll remember forever actually happens. If you want the sky doing something behind you while you ask, there's a version for that too.

THE ARCTIC
PROPOSAL
I hang back, blend in with the tourists, and catch the question and the answer without either of you performing for a camera. You get the moment, and the photographic proof that you didn't quite manage to hold it together. Then, once the shock wears off, an hour together for the two of you, newly engaged and still buzzing,

Want the aurora overhead when you ask? This pairs the proposal with a private aurora hunt, just the two of you and me, chasing a clear sky to the best spot I can find. Five edited northern-lights images included. Nobody can promise the lights, but if they come, you'll be asking under them.
Bring the moment to life with extras: champagne, wool blankets, sparklers, a little chocolate. Tell me what would mean something to the two of you, and I'll have it waiting.
